Hi, guys. This weekend, among other things, I'm putting the finishing touches on Astro Toy and the upcoming panels at I-Con next weekend.
Did you know that there's a POWER TEAM coming to I-Con this year? Two other cool guys I know are going to be present: Mike Toole from ANN and the former Anime Jump, and Vertical Inc marketing man Ed Chavez. Both of these guys are absolutely unstoppable. They know about a hundred times more stuff than I do and they're totally gonna put me to shame, but it's all for you, Long Island congoer! All for you!
As for myself, I'm hurriedly slapping together Most Dangerous Anime (and its 18+ equivalent), the featured titles for which are, as always, a secret. I have something so special lined up for the daytime panel that I don't even know if it'll work!
What is Most Dangerous Anime? MDA is something that grew out of my love of spectacular failures in anime that entertain despite themselves. To give you an idea, the things I've run at these panels include Musashi Gundoh, the unfinished cut of Gundress, Valanoir, and other similar disasters.
This isn't strictly a "bad anime" panel, it's more a "crazy shit" panel. It's named for MD Geist, after all. It's been a hit at I-Con every year and I'm looking forward to doing another awesome one! Come by if you can, I promise it'll be good.
Your commentary MADE the panels. I don't know how you deal with 80 sperglords screaming about tits and 4chan at every single one of them, but props for that.
Also, I was at a loss for what anime to watch next, and now I have Mad Bull 34. Thanks, I think!

The "screaming about tits and 4chan" level was way, way up this year at the 18+ panel. My theory is that it's location. This is actually the first time I've ever had a lecture hall to myself, and it's just more conducive to yelling than a classroom. It's acoustics!
Just given the nature of this thing I assume and welcome a certain amount of hootin' and hollerin': crowd reaction is a lot of the reason I have so much fun putting these panels on.
When it's unfunny, eh, what are you gonna do. When it's intrusive, like the people directly in front of me... well, I had to stop and tell those people to be quiet once I was starting to hear them over the sound of my own voice.
Anyway, thank you for letting me know you had a good time. I'm always happy to hear it!
