So here's what you do: first, beat the game. This unlocks Hard mode. Then, beat Leo's stage on Hard. If you don't have her stage open yet, just keep working until you make it up to the upper left corner of the map. This unlocks Mokujin's stage, which is a gold mine. Play the beginning of the stage normally until you enter a circular room with three Mokujins inside. Don't beat up these guys the way you usually would: instead, you're going to want to use ground-slamming moves over and over again. For Lars, the best thing is down+Right Punch. Slam an enemy into the ground enough times, and the floor will shatter, automatically killing all the enemies on the floor and giving you tons of items and cash.
Repeat this all the way up to the boss: if you're fast, you'll start to fight gold Mokujins. Just ground slam them like you've been doing, and you'll be rewarded with more money than anything else in the game can get you. It doesn't even particularly matter if you beat the boss at the end: this level can net you over 2 million in fight money. That's still not a ton, when you look at what store items cost. The fastest and most reasonable way to get fight money is to simply play this level, over and over again.
It's mind-blowing that the devs actually thought this was a good idea: it's like they came in with the assumption that nobody would possibly want to play their fighting game.
The Mokujin stage is especially easy with Nina. When you get to the circular chamber, just charge the grey Mokujin furthest on the right with an unblockable tackle and rape his corpse with 1+4 (Ivory Cutter, her staple spinny chop-axekick combo) over and over again. It should take roughly 3 repetitions of 1+4 to break each floor, and if you charged the Mokujin right off the bat, you'll be humping his corpse against the wall all the way down. Just be careful not to get too overexuberant mashing 1+4 or else you might get a regular 4 kick instead, which isn't so bad because it usually refloats the body high enough to resume spamming 1+4.
The floors break in this order:
1. Grey Mokujin (start here)
2. Brown Mokujin
3. Grey Mokujin
4. White Mokujin
5. Alien
6. Fat guys (be careful not to drop your corpse combo here because the fat guys are really obnoxious to launch with Nina; they constantly block high, can't be thrown, and Nina's knockdown/launching strings that start low are slow as balls and only combo on counter-hit.)
7. Gold Mokujin x4
8. Gold Mokujin x4
9. Gold Mokujin x4
10. Boss Mokujin
Killing the Gold Mokujins on floors 7-9 is by far the most profitable part of the run; if you have Increase Fight Money and Increase Drop Rate attributes jacked up as high as you can get them, you're often looking at 100K gold per Gold Mokujin (they usually drop around 2 bags of gold each when they die).
One thing to be aware of is that Bounding by any party can break the floor prematurely and insta-kill all the Mokujin, which is something you don't want because they usually drop a lot more gold when you beat them on their feet. Assuming you don't accidentally spaz out and use 1+4 on them in a juggle, the main ways that unwanted Bounds are going to happen are (a) Alisa bounds a Mokujin or (b) a Mokujin bounds Alisa. The best way to avoid this situation and make your Mokujins last is to keep the crowd clear of Alisa (use Nina's palm thrust moves like 1+2, b+1+2 and f,f+1+2 to blast them away from Alisa) and kill them yourselves with strings like 1,4,1. The whole string can be blocked high, but the computer's aggression usually nets you a counter-hit jab, which makes the whole thing combo, and sometimes it'll just have a total brain fart after blocking the high kick and get crumpled by the chop, where you can easily combo them further with another 1,4,1.
With A/S-rank items you're looking at around 1.5 million G, minimum, for around 6 minutes of work. It's stupid on a conceptual level, but for some reason I actually find it kinda fun.
